Welcome to Challah for Hunger!

Challah for Hunger brings people together to raise money and awareness for social justice--through challah bread.  Our more than forty chapters, on college campuses throughout the U.S. and beyond, engage young people in community, tradition, hands-on baking, activism, and philanthropy.

Week of 11/8

 Hey challah lovers,

Meeting Daoud Hari

On Wednesday, November, 3rd Daoud Hari, the author of The Translator came to UMBC to speak on behalf of the New Book Experience.  After his speech, he had a book signing.  Some of our Challah for Hunger members were honored to attend this event.  We informed him of Challah for Hunger, and he signed our Challah for Hunger poster, which we display at our selling table.

We've chosen a new local partner!

After much deliberation, our executive board has finally chosen a local beneficiary. We've decided to pair up with an Evanston soup kitchen, Soup at Six.
We are thrilled to begin this partnership and hope that it will be the beginning of a very long and beautiful friendship.

Look out for more information soon about how we plan to help this local non-profit.

Robyn Fisher

Robyn Fisher is the inspiration for the Challah for Hunger UM chapter. She has been making challah for her family and teaching friends how to make Challah for years. She has a gift of connecting with others so it just makes sense that Challah making is another hidden talent of Robyn!
She learned of Challah for Hunger and decided she wanted to start one at UM. She is the motivation and inspiration behind it all.
Take a peak at how she works her magic and where it all began.
It is a beautiful video:
